My journey into chess and coaching
My journey into chess began with a deep fascination for the game's strategy and endless possibilities. This fascination quickly grew into a passion, leading me to dedicate countless hours to studying and playing. What truly fuels my passion for teaching, however, is witnessing my students grow and improve. There's an incredible satisfaction in seeing that moment when a concept clicks for them, or when they achieve a personal best. It's more than just teaching moves; it's about helping individuals develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong appreciation for this ancient game.
How I help students improve
My coaching approach focuses on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment tailored to each student's needs. We'll work together to identify strengths and areas for development, building a solid foundation in chess fundamentals before moving onto more advanced strategies. I believe in active learning, encouraging students to analyse their own games and understand the "why" behind each move. Through personalised feedback, interactive exercises, and a focus on practical application, my goal is to equip you with the skills and confidence to excel at every level of the game. Our objective is not just to teach you to play, but to teach you to think like a chess master.
Developing future chess stars
While I haven't personally achieved any notable awards or rankings, my greatest achievements come from the successes of my students. The true reward is seeing them grow, not just as chess players, but as individuals with enhanced critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Every improvement, every strategic breakthrough, and every successful tournament game played by my students is a testament to our collaborative hard work and dedication. We're building a community of passionate chess players here in Limassol, Cyprus, and I'm proud to be part of each student's unique chess journey.
